The tragedy of our media is it rewards what it judges to be a good "story". Major being statesmanlike and sensible, offering real insight - boring! Blair going mad in public - a great story that enables all the Labour haters to stand on the side lines shouting FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!

I find it depressing to see how Blair was so obsessed with accumulating huge wealth - with the inequality gap widening by the year, it's not very "Labour" is it?

I didn't bother to read the details of his suggestions tbh - once I saw the rejection of net zero policy it was obvious he wasn't living in the real world any more

I wish he'd just shut up & be more Gordon Brown!

Thank you Ian that was wonderful and I feel so much better now. I have thought this about Tony Blair and John Major for a long time. I voted for Tony Blair and idolised him, but this has turned to bitter disappointment since the Iraq war, its legacy and his own murky activities after leaving Government. ❤️
